Während seiner Residency im MQ wird Hisko Hulsing im Rahmen des Under_the_Radar Festivals am 24.3.2025 um 15:00 im Raum D eine Masterclass halten und seine Ausstellung danach, etwa um 18:30, im Rahmen der Under_the_Radar Preisverleihung feierlich eröffnen.

Hisko Hulsing, Gewinner des Grand Prize beim Ottawa International Animation Festival, wurde durch seine Animationssequenzen für „Cobain: Montage of Heck“, einem Dokumentarfilm über Kurt Cobain, international bekannt und führte in Folge bei beiden Staffeln von „Undone“ Regie, der ersten animierten Serie für Erwachsene auf Amazon Prime.

BIOGRAPHIE

HISKO HULSING (Amsterdam – 1971)

Besides painting, writing, directing, and animating, Hisko composes the orchestral soundtracks for his own films. All his films and series feature a distinctive style that is based on thousands of oilpaintings on canvas.
His films Seventeen and Junkyard won many awards, including the Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.
Hisko Hulsing made the animated sequences for Cobain: Montage of Heck, the acclaimed documentary about Kurt Cobain, that was theatrically released worldwide by Universal Pictures and got nominated for 8 Emmy Awards.
Hisko Hulsing directed both seasons of Undone, the first animated series for adults for Amazon Prime. Undone was the best reviewed animated series of 2019 and appeared in Top Ten lists of The New York Times, Vanity Fair and Time Magazine. It won the jury award in Annecy in 2020.
